In a few instances, users have had frozen screens occur when using one of our older programs. If you do the following, you can greatly reduce the number of freezes (to almost zero).
  1. Open COMPUTER (or MY COMPUTER on XP) by clicking the icon on your desktop or by locating it on the START menu.
  2. Open Local disk C or explore the flash drive if working on the flash drive.
  3. Open the GH folder (or SMARTLUCK folder, then GH if working on an installed copy of flash drive).
  4. Locate the file GAIL.EXE. There will be several of them named gail. Only one is an application. Note: If you only see files that say Gail and that's it, you may have your computer set to hide file extensions. In this case, you will have to show folder options in Detail view and arrange icons by type and look for the gail file listed as an application. Right-click on a white space within the folder and choose View -> Details, and then click on Type at the top to sort by that column.
  5. When you find the file, right click on the file name and choose PROPERTIES.
  6. Click on the COMPATIBILITY tab.
  7. Check the box that says "Run this program in compatibility mode for ..." Make sure the box below that says WINDOWS 95, not WINDOWS XP.
  8. Click OK.
