EuroMillions Game Changes

In a rush to produce larger jackpots and more ways to win, EuroMillions is mixing things up. As of the drawing on Tuesday, September 27, 2016, EuroMillions now has new, updated rules, including a change to the number format.

An extra Lucky Star number has been added, making the game a 5/50 + 2/12. This worsens the jackpot odds of winning EuroMillions, which is now one in 139,838,160 (the previous odds were one in 116,531,800).

Consumers in the UK now have to pay £2.50 (€2.88/$3.24) for one line, up from the previous cost of £2. Other countries prices may vary, but the majority are the new price.

Note about Smart Luck history file

Our software will still work the same for this game, but you will need to download the new history file for the lucky stars. Every time a game changes, we have to rename the history file to match the new number format. If you update with favorites in Lottery Updater, you’ll need to go into change your favorites to select the new file – eur0212.slh. The old file, eur0211.slh will no longer be updated. The new file still includes the old history for you to use until there are enough drawings with 12 numbers to work with. Then, we will lock the range of the game to start by default at the date of the current format beginning. You can change the range at any time yourself to include or exclude the past drawings. The main 5 numbers can still be found in the Euro Millions file, eur0550.slh which remains unchanged.
